Passing by ourselves

We go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and we pass by ourselves without wondering.

Saint Augustine

I listen to so many people planning and hoping to find peace and happiness in their bucket lists–in traveling far away to have an experience that will add something they are missing. The more privileged the farther away people want to travel–Mars anyone? Nothing wrong with a bucket list. But what’s in your bucket now? A universe of the extraordinary, forgotten and the unexplored. Embrace the contents and enjoy what you have that you hardly know. Put on the top of your bucket list a trip of a lifetime–sit quietly and let your soul take you on an adventure that will change your life.
