The great internal battle

When we live superficially … we are always outside ourselves,
never quite ‘with’ ourselves,
always divided and pulled in many directions
… we find ourselves doing many things
that we do not really want to do,
saying things we do not really mean,
needing things we do not really need,
exhausting ourselves for what we secretly realize
to be worthless and without meaning in our lives.

Thomas Merton

Much has been written about the great internal battle between the self (the true you) and the ego (the you that you project). How do we allow the incredible seeds that have been sown into your DNA sprout and grow? How do we set aside the pretenses of self-importance, status and impressing others and nuture who you are and want to be/become?

Know someone that could benefit from this information?
