Writing is part of my meditative process to clarify my thoughts, to align my actions and to focus on my purpose. I write about my emotions, my shortcomings, and my ideas for a better world through poetry, prose, and what I call rantifestos every day, some of which I post here on my blog and on social media. I share them to help others move along their paths to live and lead with compassion.
All of us came from the same place. Our ancestry has a common origin. Part of our shared heritage is our altruism. We have the DNA within us that yearns to help one another. But over time our given traits are smoothed over by time and necessity. We can forget our roots and our true selves.
This is not a usual weekly ass kicker. But it is something truly kicking my ass. An observation about the world I have the privilege to see.
I know you think you are a good person. Everyone does. And you are. But thinking and being are two different things.
With all good intentions so many mentors and parents become futurists who think they can see the road ahead so clearly.
When we are open to one another, when we embrace one another we become one another. I am because we are. I am what I am because of who we all are.
We underestimate the power and benefits of a proper apology. The great gift of opening one’s heart, connecting to another and mending a wound.
Adaptability is the most sought-after characteristic of leadership and of an organization. It is a continuous learning process. Not talking about professional development with a focus on cutting edge skills and competencies. But a dynamic feel for the needs of the people serving and being served.
The ability to take on things unconditionally, like acceptance or love is a keyway to work towards a point in life where we are at peace with everything, and everybody around us, including ourselves.
These things will teach us and guide us if we surrender to them. This is one of the greatest secrets to increased well-being.
What if we knew what was inside every person, every situation, every thing? I am not just talking about the search or pursuit of the truth, but a view into the forces that caused the manifestation on the surface. A way to deepen our empathy and understanding of what is really going on.
We can not make real progress without engaging our enemies in the process of peace and a shared vision. Community must be truly inclusive, equitable and diverse.
